Abstract

Given the current situation, in a time of great transformation, where information has a high degree of power, circulation and diffusion, young people are attracted and inserted in this new technological era, in this communicational world, where the tools of remote sensing are constantly inserted , Thus, it was sought to verify if school makes use of these tools in geography classes, contextualizing its products with the student reality. Thus, the present work is about the importance of using Remote Sensing in a school environment, allowing the student to observe, analyze and understand the transformations occurring in the geographic space that compose their daily life. The main objective was to present didactic resources that can contribute to the teaching of Geography from remote sensing techniques at the Antonio Alves da Silva School, located in the rural area of the village of Chapada, Serrinha / BA municipality. The methodological approach adopted in this study was the application of a workshop in the 5th grade class of Elementary I, in which a diagnostic evaluation was initially made in order to understand if the students already had knowledge of the subject, later a theoretical contextualization was carried out, approaching Main concepts of the aforementioned theme and their applications, as well as the exhibition of satellites images related to four different rural communities, these places, of residence of the students. The construction of a thematic panel in the classroom was the result obtained fromthe workshop, in which the students identified elements of natural and anthropic order in the images of their community of origin, creating a legend to signal the different spaces and objects on the surface. Thus, it was verified that this was the first contact of the students with the subject, but even beginners were able to identify and understand the information present in each stage of the work when discussing with other colleagues what was learned in the activity, making remote sensing a Relevant subject and great potential in the process of teaching and learning of students in the school space
